ZnSe(Cr) | Laser Crystal, or middle-infrared (mid-IR) chromium-doped zinc selenide (ZnSe(Cr)) bulk laser, has attracted a lot of attention due to its unique combination of available pump sources (1400-2200nm, Er-fiber, Tm fiber, telecom or InP diodes, YAG/YLF(Er); YAG/YLF(Tm)). Its technological (low cost ceramic material), optical, and spectroscopic characteristics (ultra-broadband gain bandwidth, high absorption coefficients) make it the best option when searching for a compact system with continuous tunability at 300K over 1.9-3.3 μm, output powers up to 13W, and high conversion efficiency up to 70 percent.
