Description
CaF2 | Infrared Crystal is a crystal with good transmission from 0.15μm to 9μm. It has a low refractive index, is slightly soluble in water, and is sensitive to thermal shock.CaF2 is commonly used as window material for both infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths without an anti-reflection coating. It is vulnerable in atmospheric moisture at 600°C, where it begins to soften and the maximum temperature is 800°C, when moisture is not present. In addition, the irradiation of Calcium Fluoride windows causes some loss in UV transmission.
